Please Pardon Our Hiatus…

February came and went! We didn’t mean to leave you hanging, but now we can fill you in on what we have been up to for the past month. Plus we will highlight some amazing women in honor of Women's Month.

TV Festival

During the month of February, our alma mater invited the IV Team to represent SCAD as Ambassadors at the TV Festival in Atlanta. We attended several panels throughout the weekend. We learned so much from industry leaders, networked and made new connections, as well as, caught up with fellow friends and classmates. We attended a special screening of Harlem where we met and heard inspiring stories from the cast and creator.

As part of our Ambassadorship came the opportunity to pitch Exposed to a group of executives in exchange for feedback. We were one of six projects selected that were given ten minutes total to pitch including the executives’ feedback. We went second and needless to say we were a bit nervous yet our excitement for the opportunity weighed more. After our short and sweet pitch we had a conversation with the executives on how to improve our pitch moving forward and it was certainly invaluable information. After the pitch party we celebrated with a southern brunch in the historic midtown.

The Pitch Party really fueled our next steps for Exposed and the world of IV Vision.

Writer’s Room

We have been working hard to get Exposed to a point where the story is completely outlined and we can finish writing the series. We recently added two beautiful black queer writers, Desmond Lane and Damone Williams to our team to help the series flourish.

We have had a blast getting to know and working with these writers as we expand the world of Exposed and what Vision has to offer.

The Writers:

JEWEL IV - CREATOR/SHOWRUNNER

SARAH M. - SUPERVISING PRODUCER

ALEXIS B. - STORY PRODUCER

TOBI O. - STORY EDITOR

JORDAN Y. - STAFF WRITER

NATHAN C. - STAFF WRITER

JORDAN P. - STAFF WRITER

DESMOND L. - STAFF WRITER

DAMONE W. - STAFF WRITER

Women's Month

Although we missed an opportunity to post about Black History Month we wanted to make it a point to celebrate Women's Month. Fun Fact: IV Vision is made up of about 80% women and so we wanted to highlight some of the creative women on the team, who also happen to be beautifully black, and share their views on being a woman in the industry.

These women understand that in the world and in their field they are navigating through male-dominated areas. Despite that, they continue to focus on what is most important, the art of storytelling.
