Exposed: Back To Black is an episodic proof continuing the world of Exposure. In this installment, photographer Marcus Carter must navigate the consequences of potentially outing his lover Levi. Meanwhile, Levi's brother Shazir meets with Von to discuss a new underground business venture.
The film is directed by Jewel Hamrick IV (Jewel IV), who also serves as one of the producers alongside Alexis Broome, Sarah McVicker, Tobi Oladipo, and Kareem McMichael. The cinematography is helmed by Kai Dickson, and the cast features the talents of Shakeem Cota, Khalil Harmon, Amari K. Jones, Todras Sam, Raxiel Liz, Melissa Mitchem, and Quentin Murrell.
"Exposed holds such a special place, not just in my profession, but in my heart," said Jewel IV. "I am very proud that even through an uneasy time in our industry, we are being seen and recognized for our strides to continue to bring stories like Exposed, to the screen. Thank you to all of our team, talent, and crew members that invested time, money and sweat to make this vision happen. My first film, Bash, was the first film that I screened in my hometown of Houston, TX. It feels very full circle to be coming back 7 years later to screen my most complex piece to date; It's nostalgic."
The National Black Film Festival was founded with the initiative to build an enlightening platform for future filmmakers and actors, aiming to stimulate the production of more high-quality films in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area and map the city as a major cinematic outlet.
We invite all our supporters, film enthusiasts, and the Houston community to join us in celebrating this achievement and supporting the creative voices that continue to shape the film industry.
