Jewel IV Announces Debut Single "VeNUS," Out June 13

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 2, 2025

LOS ANGELES, CA — Multidisciplinary creative and emerging alt-R&B artist Jewel IV is stepping into the music spotlight with the release of his long-awaited debut single with the release of their long-awaited debut single, VeNUS, available on all major digital streaming platforms Friday, June 13, 2025.

Produced by Christopher Mays, known artistically as Criuh, VeNUS is a dreamy, ethereal track that blends minimalism and emotion into a sonic escape. Originally created from a production pack shared between Criuh and Jewel IV during the earliest stages of their musical collaboration, VeNUS became the first track they completed together—marking a defining early moment in Jewel IV’s evolution.

The record also features vocal arrangement and creative partnership from Christiana Chin, fellow artist and cousin of Jewel IV. The two, alongside Criuh, represent the heart of IV Sound’s artist development engine, blending production, songwriting, and vocal artistry in perfect harmony.

Although VeNUS is Jewel IV’s official debut single, his musical journey began earlier with the launch of IV Sound—the music division of his creative studio, IV Vision. Inspired by Issa Rae’s vision for Raedio, Jewel IV created IV Sound initially to serve as a post-production sound house during the development of his TV pilot Exposed: Back to Black. At the urging of collaborators Nia Renée and Soul Sydonna (Sydney Wade), both musicians and audio creatives, IV Sound evolved into a space for emerging talent to thrive and be heard. The studio’s inaugural release, BK2BLK: The Album, a soundtrack compilation for Back to Black, laid the foundation for Jewel IV to fully embrace the idea of crafting and releasing his own music.

VeNUS is a reminder that escapism is real—and sometimes necessary. It’s not about running from your problems, but giving yourself the space to breathe, to dream, to drift,” says Jewel IV. “It felt like I was living on another planet when I wrote it. The sound, the visuals, even the themes… they’re all born from that desire to slip away and reflect.
— Jewel IV

VeNUS was first previewed via EVEN on May 9 through an early drop with UnitedMasters, garnering over 5,000 streams and base listener engagement, based on EVEN’s purchase conversion analytics. Now, Jewel IV is preparing for his full digital release and broader reach.

Thematically, VeNUS draws from Jewel IV’s relocation to Los Angeles and the accompanying emotional shift—navigating love, family, personal transitions, and spiritual self-awareness. There is a deep undercurrent of escapism, spiritual reflection, and the symbolic pull of the planet Venus, ruler of Taurus—his moon sign. The song reflects a layered relationship with God and the self, creating a moment of stillness and release.

The single’s original cover art for EVEN was designed in the format of a periodic table element; which is the first in a series of elemental visual motifs. The DSP cover art takes a more realistic approach. The single’s creative direction, led by visual collaborator Emerald Arguelles, is rooted in surrealism, mythology, and celestial nostalgia. The visual world of VeNUS blends art history (like Botticelli’s Birth of Venus) with Y2K aesthetic references, VHS textures, and metaphysical metaphors.

While there is no traditional music video, a visual companion piece will debut with single’s release, continuing the story of VeNUS through experimental imagery.

VeNUS also serves as the official introduction to Jewel IV’s debut EP, a genre-defiant body of work rooted in alternative R&B. While full details remain under wraps, the project will expand the sonic blueprint of VeNUS and set the stage for his next era.
